This is an essay I wrote on the movie "The Namesake". I had a difficult time sticking to my original thesis due to the episodic nature of the film, but overall, I enjoyed the process. I have always had somewhat of an ability to write, but my skills are firmly nestled in opinion and commentary rather than any kind of technical writing. So I very much enjoyed the challenge of choosing such a difficult thesis and then centering my writing around it. For the most part, I generally write a stream of consciousness without a focus. I learned quite a bit about the structure of this type of film, as well.
